He’s okay by me because he has a genuine passion.

He’s okay by me because he has a genuine passion. Yeah, and reportedly business interests to skew his subjective opinions.

Good analogy. The thing that puzzles is is that is seems to sound very good. With rice paper panes in those doors, proximity to side walls, flimsy building and no other furntture I’d have expected it to be terrible.

Just watched this Audiophiliac and enjoyed it. He’s basically saying shit in, shit out: stick with your speakers. It chimes with my current experience with the Ref 3as which shouldn’t need muscle, but come alive when driven nonetheless. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gXSvHDOjFsyoutu.be/7gXSvHDOjFs

There are some affordable speakers that indeed punch well above their price. S.

With digital these days, the emphasis returns to amp power able to track dynamics properly and then the tone of the speakers and how they work with or fight the room acoustics. With vinyl, the deck, arm, cartridge and then phono stage (usually in that order) takes precedence as vinyl is fraught with compromises (fact, not opinion!).
Why do you need a scruffy old opinionated false god hippy on Youtube (Guttenberg? Oh FFS people, the chap is PAID to promote certain stuff I believe) to wank over stuff purely subjectively, when you have a whole collection of peeps on here to do the same for your comfort and convenience?
These vids are all about someone elses brain and ears interpreting what *they* think is ok. All these personal (to them) opinions and no objective data to confirm them as true or false and what happens, you buy their current recommended component and it'll probably not work in your room or gear setup!
I despair, I really do.

Big amp into small speakers > small amp into big speakers
