Funnily enough I just love that JVC. It’s going to be concealed in the bedroom system though. A real pity cos I just loved looking at it. Know what you needs ? A big fuck off valve jobee! Sat right there...glowing and thobbing like a gayers arsehole in a borstal shower ! Don't use it to play music obviously. I’ve had quite a few and tbh only one did anything for me. One of the cheapest too. It was an Audion Sterling. I had a much more expensive one from the same maker and it just wasn’t as good. Still above any other valve amps I’ve had though. If o ever see one going cheap again, I will buy for the pleasure of ownership.

I’ve been experimenting with speaker placement. The De Capos are supposed to fire straight forward but that hasn’t worked in this room. Unsurprisingly shutting the blinds makes them work really well. I like to sit and look out of the window but it looks like I can’t have both.

I’ve always been really fond of tne De Capos but they haven’t worked well in this room up to now. They really need stands with a bigger footprint but I have some ideas on that. The official stands are a bit ugly and I’m not 100% sure about the wisdom of the adjustable height.

Should I stockpile one lol? That’s not a bad price. Maybe I just let it fail then but an ultra modern vertical one and then change the decor to match

They reckon there worst place for a radiator is under a window yet every house I've had has had the buggers right under the sills ! They were the place to put them when people had mega draughty windows, kinda acted like a heat blanket for the draught. Nowadays windows should be sealed & would be best mounted elsewhere.

Arrived today, looks nice but I don’t have a deck for it yet. Usually fatal for me in that it will get sold if I don’t get something quick. So many decks, arms, preamps and power amps have ended up sold because I’ve not waited until,I had something to use them with. Let’s hope I’m more patient this time. I wanted to try this arm because it’s a dual pivot design and I’ve never come across that before. image web hosting
