Well I’m a bit perplexed to say the least, The feedback suggests an “idiosyncratic” seller, but he had what I wanted and others didn’t so I gave it a go. Here’s the story.
He lists these, which are rare and pricey elsewhere as they are discontinued and NOS stocks are dwindling. His price was great and I had an Anniversary body to try it on.
[
Just to be sure, I emailed him to make sure he had stock. No answer. So I ordered anyway using a credit card for safety and immediately get confirmation of next day delivery. Happy days!
I open the package to find this instead.
Not only does it look inferior, but it also doesn’t have the boron cantilever or magnets of the 150. In a nutshell, it wasn’t what was advertised or ordered.
I email Scott and get this reply
Hi Andrew
1/ picture on website shows the original stylus for identification purposes only
2/ AT150MLX out of production for several years ( cartridge & stylus ) & replaced with new ranges 500/700 series introduced a few years ago

5/ we do have a few shibata left AT150SA/ATN150SA

I reply saying it’s not the same and the advert is misleading. I ask to return fir refund. By this time it’s late Thursday afternoon and we are headed into Easter. I expect he will reply after the holiday.
Fast forward to Saturday and I spot a good price on the OC9XML and email him asking to return and pay the extra for the OC9XML. So he’s now making £408 instead of £179. Guess what? still no answer to any comms? Is he just lackadaisical?
He has no motivation not to communicate and yet I get silence. He’s leaving me with no option but to seek a refund via the credit card. I’m not sending the goods back until he acknowledges that he will send a full refund on receipt of returned goods, so he is likely to end up with a payment reversal and I will still hold the item. All this when he could’ve had an extra sale.
I’ve now bought an OC9 XML elsewhere so he’s missed his chance.
